Playing tips
One more accidental discovery was made for this song as well. During the first A-to-F
chord change (after intro) I used two fingers for playing both chords, i.e. A on 2nd,
3rd, and 4th strings, and F on 3rd, 4th, and 5th strings, respectively. Either I was
not prepared for the correct finger positions, or (subconsciously) decided not to change
finger position for the sake of originality/simplicity, but the resulting chord sounded
quite interesting, and maybe it is close to the reality. I am not sure how to correctly
write it down, hence is the awkward chord name.
Em7/A 0 0 0 0 0 0
F(+a#) x 3 3 3 3 0 (or 0 3 3 3 3 0)
INTRO: some swing between A, Em7/A, and F(+a#)
{ A F(+a#) A F(+a#) } x8
A F Dm
Now we sit here in our special place,
A
all wearing our happy faces gladly.
A F Dm
Sunlight appears in our world, our joy
A
has been turned from badness.
F#
Now we've moved from love to love
D
and it's easier that way.
F#
We are riding on rainbows
D
and happy today.
G C F C G
Now we move to the sun in every direction;
G C F C G
we are cloaked in veils of mystic protection...
D F
joking a lot, smoking or not,
D F
floating our yacht off to freedom,
G G C F C G G C F C G
voting to be Aquarian!
A A A A
A F etc.
I hold silver flashi-ing metal in the palm
of my petal hand, watching it quiver:
to breathe too close is death -
ah, but what is breath but a way to deliverance?
Soon we will all be joined
in our great silver tube,
wanting every one to come along,
that means you too!
Now we move to the sun in every direction;
we are cloaked in veils of mystic protection...
mapping the way, clapping to say
we're happy today, and assured of
the fact that we're all Aquarian!
A A A A
A F etc.
Hardly any mone - y... who needs bread anyway?
Well, I mean to say, it's just a road to freedom!
Everything's too funny; we just ride along so high,
watch the bad scenes floating by, who needs them?
Soon we will all be joined
in our great silver tube,
wanting every one to come along,
that means you too!
Now we move to the sun in every direction;
we are cloaked in veils of mystic protection...
Lighting the path, righting the past,
fighting the dark like centurions,
G G C F C G
writing our names as A - quarians!
G C F C G
as A - quarians!
G C F C G
as Aquarians!
G C F C
G F
Writing our names as we move to the sun,
G
we're Aquarians.
Chords vary as the guys improvise in G. Those can be G6, maybe G7. Let it be up to the improviser.
Also, close to the very end, Peter recites the following: "Actually, I don't think it is John
Anthony. It's a cardboard replica. They haven't got the pot belly quite right."
